Looking for something to do and want to make a difference? Here are 5 ways to give back to your Nashville community this summer.

1. Red Cross Blood Drive: 

As a blood drive coordinator you will take leadership; work with many groups or people across your organization; bring people together in a spirit of teamwork to make your event successful; and promote a cause that could help save millions of lives each year. Everybody Wins. Patients are able to receive the lifesaving blood they urgently need. Your organization builds goodwill and improves team spirit by working together to help others. You show leadership in bringing volunteers and donors together for a good cause.

2. Senior Ride Nashville

Senior Ride Nashville is an affordable, assisted ride service that pairs a senior who needs a ride with a volunteer who can give one. Senior Ride Nashville wants to foster a community that connects and empowers older adults. They believe the best way to do this is to connect seniors who no longer drive with volunteers who do. By giving older adults the ability to get around town and foster relationships with community members, they honor the city we live in and make it better for all.

3. Shower the People

Shower The People’s primary purpose is to show love by providing mobile shower facilities to homeless individuals in the community. They will provide on-site showers for those without access to permanent facilities, by using a converted school bus that is equipped with both showers and a restroom. You can support them via donation, towel drive, or volunteering.

 

4. Volunteer at the Zoo

Opportunities and availability vary based on Zoo needs, but may include special events, event set-up, gardening, landscaping and other projects. Although there are no opportunities to work with animals. There are many group volunteer and special event volunteer opportunities. For example, they are looking for volunteers over the age of 21 to work their Red, White and Brew event.
